About Michael D. Coster, Administrator

Michael D. Coster, M.A., M.F.A., is the head of the Visual Arts Department at the Ethel Walker School where he has taught for 24 years. Before arriving in New England, Michael maintained a private studio in Tennessee and practiced his own skills as an artist. Michael has exhibited his photography in the eastern United States and has been a juror for many photography exhibits during his professional career.

He delights in working with young people helping them realize that "capturing light" can be a unique and exciting artistic adventure.

Creating exhibits of art is a routine part of his academic year. The Ethel Walker School Gallery has a long history of sponsorship in developing unique presentations.

Michael views his tenure at The Ethel Walker School as a "caretaker" helping the institution promote and preserve artistic ventures that reward both the artist and the audience.

About Tracy Dorman, Co-Administrator

Tracy Dorman, Co-Administrator, studied photography at the Connecticut School of Fine Arts. As a dancer with the Connecticut Valley Regional Ballet Company, she photographed the company dancers in rehearsals from the wings. In addition to the C.V.R.B., Tracy has served as a photographer for Dance Services Network, the Manchester Ballet, and Ballet Theater Company. Her dance photography was featured in a in a gallery show at The Ethel Walker School and Hartford Public Library. She has won five awards in a national photography contest sponsored by Travelers Insurance Company and multiple awards in the Wethersfield Spring Arts Festivals. Her work has been featured in Popular Photography and Imaging Magazine. Recently, one of Tracy's photos placed a runner-up in an advertising competition for Ford Explorer sponsored by the Ford Motor Company.

About Dorothy Silverherz, Co-Administrator

Dorothy Silverherz holds a B.A. from Smith College and a M.A.L.S. from Wesleyan University. A former professional dancer, she was the head of the Dance Department at The Ethel Walker School for 25 years. She is on the board of The Connecticut Valley Regional Ballet Company, Inc.
